Days Out In Dornoch

Dornoch Cathedral – sitting in the heart of the town, the cathedral is open daily enjoy the architecture and fine stained glass windows , all 27 of them ! Throughout the year concerts are held in the cathedral when it is worth a visit to check out the acoustics .


The Links Museum is dedicated to the history of Dornoch parish the exhibition will lead you from the present da back to in time , Fantastic displays on golf, the railway , the Cathedral, funding clans, the burning of the last witch, the Picts & Vikings being the earliest recorded settlers open April – October 10 am – 4pm


Excellent fishing in lochs, cycle in the most spectacular scenery, or head down to Dornoch Lohans where you can fish, play golf, croquet, or try some boules.  Watch out for a variety of birds, and for the visiting ospreys plunging for fish!


The area offers varied terrain for all levels of cyclists many excellent routes and highly recommended is the 34 mile cycle route from Dornoch to Spinningdale, taking in Loch Buddha to the Mound-returning via Embo. The route is hilly but passes through fantastic scenery .
